Job Description
The Staff Pad is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Warehouse Associate to join our client's team in Houston, Texas, specializing in Shipping & Receiving operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and shipment of products within our warehouse facility.
Onsite hours are 9:00am-6:00pm
Responsibilities:
1. Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying accuracy and inspecting for damages or defects.
- Unload trucks, containers, and delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Record received goods into inventory management systems and update relevant documentation.
- Communicate with suppliers and carriers to resolve discrepancies or issues with incoming shipments.
2. Shipping:
- Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness of items picked.
- Pack and label products according to shipping requirements, including hazardous materials if applicable.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and ensure timely delivery of outgoing shipments.
- Generate shipping labels, documents, and manifests as necessary.
3. Inventory Management:
- Maintain organized and efficient storage of products within the warehouse.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and stock rotation to optimize space utilization.
4. Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Operate warehouse equipment in a safe and responsible manner, following manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, including aisles, storage areas, and workstations.
- Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in shipping and receiving roles.
- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management software or systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and document information.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, or evening shifts as needed.
