Director of Corporate Social Responsibility

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Advocacy & Corporate Social Responsibility, the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility leads the Corporate Social Responsibility team responsible for ASA’s philanthropy portfolio, volunteer program, and internship program. They are responsible for maintaining CSR strategy and goals; overseeing the processes, day-to-day identification, cultivation, and management of grants; building strong relationships with grantees and other funders; and speaking publicly about grantee outcomes to drive ASA’s organizational objectives around increased opportunity for career-connected learning.

ASA is a hybrid workplace with 2 required in office workdays per week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Detailed Description:

  • Manage a team to execute ASA’s Corporate Social Responsibility functions including grant making, volunteer events, and internship program.
  • Partner with the SVP, Advocacy & Corporate Social Responsibility to create, refine, and manage the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, goals, budget, and timeline.
  • Oversee and provide strategic guidance for the continuous improvement of grants management processes, resources, and capabilities to inform opportunities for greater efficiency and efficacy.
  • Supervise grantee engagement and relationship management, including the review of proposals, contracting, onboarding, renewal or end-of-life processes, liaising with internal stakeholders, devising grantee event strategy, creating regular grantee check-ins, and measuring program efficacy and reporting project status as well as achievement against program goals for thought leadership and student impact.
  • Build and manage relationships with current and potential grantees as well as other funders to identify and develop new proposals and projects. 
  • Scope and manage creation and execution of special projects from start to implementation with internal staff and outside partners.
  • Serve as an external spokesperson to share ASA’s impact and resources with various audiences at regional and national conferences or in the media.
  • Develop and maintain process for determining program and partner learnings and sharing those learnings with external and internal audiences.
  • Keep abreast of current events, developments and issues in the field to inform grantmaking process and priorities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of ASA strategies and goals, including an up-to-date perspective on progress to goals. 
  • Support knowledge sharing and collaboration between the CSR team and other area of the organization. 

Experience:

  • 7+ years of grants management experience with a deep understanding of grants processes
  • Experience in and knowledge of education and youth workforce issues highly preferred
  • At least 3 years of staff management experience, including proven track record in staff development
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term and meaningful relationship with partners, grantees, and funders
  • Experience with public speaking
  • Experience developing, running and implementing projects, including working with partners on the definition of objectives and deliverables and monitoring and evaluation of results
  • Experience with successful collaboration across multiple teams and drive multiple concurrent projects
