With 8 million young people newly eligible to vote, Millennial and Gen Z voters are poised to make up 40 percent of the electorate in 2024 and have the potential to cast the deciding votes in 2024 elections up and down the ballot—determining the course of the next presidential election along with State House and Senate, Supreme Court, City Council, County Commission, Port Commission, and Public Utility Commission elections. The Policy and Communications team is new within ACE to gather political and policy insights to inform communications and advocacy opportunities.
The Political Analyst will be an integral part of our new Policy and Communications team and play a strategic role in partnership with ACE’s 501(c)4 affiliate Climate Emergency Advocates in identifying races up and down the ballot where decisions are made to either advance clean energy or continue the fossil fuel status quo. The Political Analyst will be the resident expert in key races, candidates, election polling and research and will share this knowledge across the team and our network of youth to leverage tools and tactics to be able to have the greatest impact possible and open avenues toward power-building and policy wins. This role will also collaborate with the Research & Experimentation to identify gaps in message testing research that can inform our work and that of the broader field as well as provide political insights to inform fundraising proposals in collaboration with the Development Team. The Political Analyst will report to the Head of Policy and Communications and work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Communications, as well as the Development, Field, Research & Experimentation, Digital, Organizing and other teams.
