Trelleborg Medical Solutions is seeking a Tool Designer to join their team. The Tool Designer designs, evaluates and reworks tooling as necessary to meet customer needs. Open to an early-mid career or a senior-level designer.
Tasks and Responsibilities \n - Designs new tooling per Trelleborg standard practices
\n - Leads tool design review meetings
\n - Designs tool rework as requested by Engineering
\n - Evaluates processes and methods for tool design
\n - Works cooperatively with designers, engineers, tool makers, and machinists to solve design problems and/or resolve scheduling conflicts
\n - Performs virtual molding and flow simulation
\n - Manages daily SolidWorks maintenance tasks
\n - Works with service and/or product suppliers
\n - Assists in proposals for new projects
\n - Uses CAD/CAM software to develop design and machine programming
- Senior Tool Designer:
\n - Maintains a high level of autonomy and possesses the skill set necessary for the above tasks and responsibilities
\n - Mentors and trains other tool designers, sharing knowledge, best practices, and purpose
\n - Exercises discretion and independent judgment in handling day-to-day problems and procedures
\n - Solves complex technical challenges in tooling and makes critical design decisions.
\n - Collaborates with other teams and drives innovation

Education and Experience \n - Required
\n - High school diploma or equivalent
\n - 2-year technical degree in Machine Tool Trades/Tool and Die or equivalent experience
\n
\n \n - Desired
\n - Some programming experience using CAD/CAM technology
\n - Estimated 2 years of tool design experience
\n - 2 year degree in Tooling or related discipline
\n

Senior Tool Designer Requirements:
\n - High school diploma or equivalent
\n - Estimated 10 years of tool design experience
\n - 3+ years of programming experience using CAD/CAM technology
\n - 2 year degree in Tooling or related discipline
\n
\n
Competencies \n - Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
\n - Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively
\n - Demonstrated competence using Microsoft Office
\n

Pay range: $37-42/hour depending on experience
