English Teacher (Full Time/Part Time) Location: Enfield Start Date: ASAP | End Date: Negotiable Employment Type: Full Time/Part Time Contract Type: Long Term / Short Term / Supply Pay Scale: £150 - £260 per day – depending on experience & contract type Key Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver a rich and engaging English curriculum across Key Stages, covering essential reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills in line with the national curriculum. Effective Instruction: Use creative teaching strategies, modern technology, and varied literary texts to inspire student engagement and promote a lifelong love of reading and writing. Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student progress using a range of assessments such as essays, creative writing tasks, exams, and oral presentations, while providing constructive feedback to support improvement. Literacy Development: Promote literacy across the whole school, encouraging students to develop confident communication skills and strong vocabulary. Classroom Management: Maintain high expectations for behaviour and foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment that supports active participation and collaboration. Continuous Professional Growth: Stay up to date with changes in English education and assessment, sharing best practices and contributing to the school’s ongoing improvement. Qualifications Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent PGCE, BA/BEd with QTS in English). Previous experience teaching English within a secondary school environment. Excellent subject knowledge of English Language and/or English Literature curriculum. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Ability to inspire students and build strong relationships with young learners. DBS registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
