POSITION SUMMARY   

Bedrock’s internship program challenges you to gain industry knowledge through hands on and practical learning methods. The Rotational Internship Program is established to provide insight into Bedrock’s mission for creating world class cities, of building success with passion, experience, and a commitment to be the best. Armed with 10 weeks of intense concentration in distinct areas of this organization, you will garner the basic skills necessary to problem solve and manage the different disciplines which are critical competencies of an outstanding commercial real estate team member.

The goal of this program is for you to understand each of these areas in a fundamental, practical, and functional manner. The practical application of this understanding becomes the foundation of a well-rounded real estate professional.

 

The internship will be fully onsite in our offices located in the heart of Downtown Detroit, within walking distance of many restaurants, entertainment/sports venues, and outdoor spaces with rotating activations. 

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES  

The intern will complete the program having gained: 

  • a technical knowledge and practical understanding of development from site planning through project development, and/or 

  • a technical knowledge and practical understanding of horizontal, commercial, or multifamily development (rental or condo), and/or 

  • a technical knowledge and practical understanding of real estate planning, and/or 

  • a functional, practical understanding of all aspects of commercial and residential real estate asset management. 

PROGRAM OUTLINE

The Rotational Internship Program will have a duration of 10-12 weeks. Each intern will attend the required orientation and onboarding during their first week and meet with the executive team. Interns will then rotate between the following business areas: 

  • Accounting and Financial Planning/Analysis

  • Asset Management 

  • Communications and Marketing 

  • Community Growth 

  • Development, Construction, and Architecture 

  • Hospitality 

  • Land Development

  • Legal 

  • Property Management 

  • Technology 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS  

  • College junior or senior currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program with a real estate specific field of study such as Real Estate, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business or Finance with a specialization in Real Estate 

  • Previous internship or work experience preferred. 

  • Must be able to commute and/or be willing to temporarily relocate to Detroit, MI for the duration of the program (housing accommodations can be requested for interns that reside over 50 miles or more away). 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Ability to perform tasks within established procedures 

  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve at a basic level

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment 

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
