Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Behavioral Health – Outpatient Adult

Rushford Center, one of Connecticut’s leading providers of addiction and mental health services, is nationally recognized for delivering outstanding prevention, treatment and recovery programs. Rushford offers a wide range of programs including Acute Care and Evaluation, Residential Addiction Treatment, Individual, Group & Family Therapy, Intensive Outpatient programs and Community Support Programs. Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Role Scope

· Evaluate and manage psychiatric disorders

· Coordinate appropriate follow up care, referrals, and case management

· Performs crisis intervention and medication management

· Develop and implement long and short range treatment plans

· Orders and performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, and provides patient notification and follow up care

· Solicits medical management consult or input when appropriate

· Completes all clinical reminders to keep each patient up to date in the system

· Work in collaborative practice with Psychiatrist

· Telepsychiatry opportunities when clinically appropriate

Advanced Practitioner Requirements

· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred

• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
• Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC. 

· Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification preferred
