This is a full-time hybrid position in Orlando (FL), Chicago (IL), Nashville (TN), or Austin (TX) with relocation options for out-of-state applicants. 

Iron Galaxy Studios is looking for a high-level animation leader who has a passion for video games. When you join our team, we’ll ask you to elevate the visual quality of our projects through movement and personality. We are an established independent video game studio that partners with some of the most respected publishers in the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Work closely with the project Animation Director / Art Director to define processes and potential pipelines 
• Ensure a high visual quality bar for animation work going into the game 
• Mentor and contribute to the growth of fellow animation artists 
• Create high-quality gameplay animations that adhere to the style of the project 
• Collaborate across disciplines to achieve responsive and readable gameplay animations 
• Use well-built posing and motion flow to create distinct character-driven actions 
• Create high-impact moves and convincing reactions 
• Utilize efficient creation techniques to support refinement and rapid iteration 
• Contribute to a team full of excitement and passion for creating great games 

DESIRED SKILLS 

• Experience working on a team to craft a distinct, cohesive visual style 
• Deep expertise and experience in working with the core principles of animation 
• Solid communication, organizational, and leadership skills 
• Ability to adapt between different art styles and adjust quickly 
• Knowledge of industry-standard tools such as Autodesk Maya & 3Ds Max, AnimBot, Houdini, Confluence, and Jira
• Robust mentality around collaboration and leadership 
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5

BONUS SKILLS 

• Ability to work with stakeholders outside of the core projects 
• A good sense of 3D & 2D animation fundamentals 
• Skills in Adobe After Effects and other Amination Plugins

Lead Animation Artists   typically have 5 - 7 years of experience within gaming animation or a related field.
