BC forward is currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Systems Administrator for an opportunity in Indianapolis, IN.

Summary:

  • Pay Range: $50,000/year - $55,000.year

Position overview:

As a Junior Systems Administrator at BC forward , you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for:

  • Tier 1 and Tier 2 Support: Providing technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues via phone, email, or in-person. Diagnosing and resolving incidents and service requests efficiently, escalating to higher tiers when necessary. Maintaining a detailed log of all support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Employee Onboarding: Managing IT onboarding processes for new employees, including setting up user accounts, configuring workstations, and ensuring proper access to applications and resources.
  • System Maintenance : Monitoring and maintaining servers, workstations, and network equipment to ensure optimal performance and availability. Applying updates, patches, and security configurations to all systems and applications.
  • Security Management: Implementing and managing security measures to protect against malware, ransomware, and other threats. Conducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Software Management: Administering and supporting enterprise applications, including Office365/M365. Managing software licenses and ensuring compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Cloud Services: Managing and supporting cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and network resources. Implementing and managing identity and access management with tools like Entra ID.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for system configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Office365/M365: Comprehensive understanding of administration, including user account management, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Microsoft Azure: In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity management (e.g., Entra ID).
  • Active Directory: Expertise in managing and maintaining Active Directory environments, including user and group management, GPOs, and security settings.
  • Operating Systems: Proficient in Windows Server and Linux administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
  • Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V.
  • Scripting : Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task management.
