Location: Remote (with option for occasional in-person meetings)

Hours: Up to 10 hours per week

Compensation: Monthly Stipend $200 per month for up to 10 hours a week

Duration: Current - End of 2nd Semester with potential extension through summer and/end of 2025

Whether it's finding the perfect song for your team, securing the rights to a hit track, or commissioning compositions, FRSH WAV ensures that every project resonates with the intended audience. With a deep understanding of both the creative and legal aspects of music in media, we deliver seamless and effective solutions tailored to the unique needs of each project.

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Music & Sync Licensing Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the music licensing industry, working alongside industry professionals to learn about sync licensing, music publishing, master ownership, and more. This role is an excellent opportunity for a student with a passion for music and marketing who is eager to explore the world of music licensing, catalog management, and holistic music marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research and organization of music catalogs for potential licensing opportunities.
  • Learn about and help with the process of licensing music for various media platforms (film, TV, ads, video games, etc.).
  • Support the sync and marketing team in the management and organization of music catalog spreadsheets and documents and marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in tracking and managing music rights, licenses, and ownership details.
  • Support with event planning and logistics for promotional or sync-related & marketing activities.
  • Assist in maintaining internal documents and databases using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
  • Participate in team meetings to gain insight into sync licensing, music marketing, and catalog management.
  • Gain exposure to trends in the music and entertainment industries.

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in music, music licensing, and the sync licensing space.
  • Knowledge of navigating major music platforms such as Apple Music , Spotify , and YouTube .
  • Experience working with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
  • Access to a personal computer with a reliable internet connection.
  • Must be a student during the 2024-2025 or 2025-2026 academic year, pursuing a degree in Music, Marketing, Entertainment, or a related field .
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strongly recommended to attend one or two virtual meetings per week, depending on schedule .
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours per week .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the music industry or marketing.
  • A passion for learning about the business side of music, including publishing, master ownership, and derivatives.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
