We are looking for an experienced controller for our auto dealership to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a bright, motivated, professional, detail oriented, organized, and hard-working individual, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, & 3 + years of prior automotive dealership controller experience.

The Controller reports the financial condition of the total dealership to the dealer executives regularly and accurately. Provides sales and expense analyses summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability relative to monthly and annual forecasts.

Primary responsibilities

• Lead the accounting office team in all required dealership accounting functions.
• Responsible for manufacturer A/R including warranty and rebates.
• Review quarterly payroll reporting.
• Promote best practices & internal controls in each store.
• Review for compliance with governmental regulations and company policies
• Train and mentor accounting staff
• Support dealer and executives by performing special projects in accounting.
• Prepare and review monthly dealership financial statements timely.
• Prepare and review reports for management as needed. Prepare and review sales tax returns.
• Participates in the preparation of short and long-term financial forecasts for the dealership.
• Monitor cash and floorplan balances. Prepare year-end package for CPA review.
• Work closely with dealer & corporate accounting team.
• Participates in the preparation of short and long-term financial forecasts for the dealership.

• Must have automotive industry experience , Reynolds & Reynolds experience including understanding dealership operations, sales processes, and vehicle inventory management, will be beneficial for this role.
• Must have the ability to create, manage, and track budgets and financial forecasts for the dealership. This involves working closely with management to set financial targets and monitor performance against these goals.
• Able to work effectively with other team members and departments to achieve financial objectives is essential for success in this role.
• Able to manage and track the dealership's vehicle inventory effectively is important, as it directly impacts the financial health of the business.
• Candidate must have a great attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience in mentoring dealership staff effectively
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team environment.
• Professional appearance with a strong work ethic
• Well organized
• Must be proficient in excel.
• Outstanding communication skills written and oral.
• A valid driver's license.
