Our client, a prominent organization in the commercial real estate sector, is seeking a dedicated Building Engineer to join their team. As a Building Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting building operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Building Engineer

Location:  New Orleans, LA

Pay Range: $28 - 30/hr 

What's the Job?

• Operate and oversee mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems within a large office building.
• Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal building performance.
• Maintain work order systems, prioritize tenant service requests, and coordinate contractor activities.
• Respond to emergency situations, diagnose complex building system issues, and make critical decisions.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and maintain clean, safe work environments.

What's Needed?

• 4-7 years of related experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
• City of New Orleans 1st Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate in Air Conditioning is required.
• Associate degree in engineering technology, trade school certification, or equivalent experience.
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience in building operations or similar field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems.
