Complementing its performance activities, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute creates extensive music education and social impact programs that annually serve more than 800,000 people worldwide, playing a central role in fulfilling Carnegie Hall's commitment to making great music accessible to as many people as possible.

WMI, the education and social impact arm of Carnegie Hall, produces a variety of music programs in NYC, across the country, and around the world. This position contributes to the successful implementation of Social Impact Programs, including Future Music Project and The B-Side and is responsible for overall administrative operations supporting the teams work, reporting to the Assistant Director of Social Impact Programs. This position requires substantial collaboration with Social Impact team members, as well as community-based partners and program participants. The position is a key part of the Social Impact team, ensuring that the data management and other systems on which these programs rely run smoothly. This position is eligible for remote work twice a week.

  • Create and/or streamline administrative team workflows based on acquired knowledge of Carnegie Hall’s internal systems and processes .
  • Provide on-the-ground support for workshops, field trips, recruitment efforts, and special events as necessary, including assisting teaching artists with attendance and distributing materials.
  • Process receipts, invoices, and expense reports in coordination with the Finance department and program team
  • Manage team and programmatic calendars and r espond to program email and phone inquiries
  • Communicate about program opportunities and events to participants, teaching artists, community partners, and other SIP stakeholders
  • Manage ticketing and RSVP processes for special events in collaboration with WMI Production
  • Track equipment and materials inventory and work with Carnegie Hall staff to replenish supplies as necessary
  • Coordinate logistics and hospitality for workshops, events, and meetings.
  • Assist Program Managers with data collection and data management
  • Liaise with other internal Carnegie Hall departments including marketing, production, and creative services

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and telephone demeanor with an eye towards customer service
  • Background in music or education preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours occasionally
